Send Uppity Wisconsin To Denver and Send a Stern Note to Rep. McDermott...

Uppity Wisconsin needs your help to go to Denver to the Democratic Convention!

REP. McDermott

From CSPAN yesterday morning Wednesday, June 11 - Washington Journal),

Use Real Player -
Rep. Jim McDermott (D-WA), Ways & Means Subcmte. Chairman talks about his unemployment extension legislation, which would extend for 13 weeks across the country and an additional 13 weeks in states with high unemployment. The Administration opposes the benefits extension and has threatened to veto it.

Representative McDerMott did you really blame 'all' voters for voting in the current administration? That is what is sounded like to me.

I think you have finally revealed why congress continues to sit on its hands, move at a snails pace and keeps on neglecting use of exhaustive savvy legislative techniques to combat the obstructionist (R) as well as the obstructionist bush dog (D). 60 votes or not, there are other ethical and legal actions and counter-actions, aren't there?

Do (D) Congresswomen and men feel so offended by the voter's who did vote for bush, that you've decided all voters are to blame?

Your response to the guy that wanted to know why you and your colleagues haven't done a better job, your response was to cast the responsibility of who elected bush on the shoulders of the caller?

The real shame is you sort of acted like a bush dog Democrat with your lack of compassion for those that Did Not vote for bush and even for those that eventually realized what voting for bush meant. Sure seemed like a bush dog attack to me. Oh yeah, there were also the election outcome irregularities 2000 and 2004 and the voting machine problems...also 2000 and 2004.

The election / voting problems that never seem to get any attention in congress.

Two of the articles deal with the fact that Bush was never elected, and in fact stole the election of 2004 in Ohio. FROM Bob Fitrakis & Harvey Wasserman are co-authors of How the GOP Stole America's 2004 Election & is Rigging 2008 at HP

97-year-old woman in Arizona falls victim to state’s stringent voter ID law. THINK PROGRESS

I don't expect anything from you, not even an apology. Except to note that I am intrigued by the way you chose to reply to the caller and will be putting more attention towards seeing if this type of attitude is woven through the congressional incumbent mindset.

I am not happy with any politician who essentially cancels out 'any' good deeds and you have a lot, to use the bush style blame game on citizen voters. Please think more about what "Public Service" really means...Insulting the entire nation of voters is not one of them Representative McDermott and your answer wasn't helpful to the viewers who were trying to understand your platform for the UI extension bill.

If I am wrong about what I heard, I hope to correct my opinion in writing too.

9 Dems Do A GOOD DEED and Say "NO!"

Rep. McDermott’s political Night Before Christmas by Darryl at Horsesass.org, 12/21/2007

4. Lee spews 12/21/2007 at 9:16 am : For those who defend McD’s vote on Xmas, would someone please tell me how insulting 70% of Americans helped McD make a point?

There’s really no explanation for it. It was a dumb vote. Then again, why is Congress actually spending so much time voting on things that have no other point beyond blowing smoke up our asses? We don’t need Congress to vote to tell us that Ramadan or Christmas or Diwali are great holidays that mean a lot to people. If they sucked, people would have stopped celebrating them a long time ago. It’s like having to vote to affirm the deliciousness of pepperoni pizza.

georgiabluecoast Posted 03:36 PM on 12/16/2007: It is to me a bit scary that a vote for christmas was even presented to congress. what is the purpose of this vote, future mud slinging? as we watch congress and the bush administration dilly dally on SCHIP, war funds, etc,it saddens me to know that precious time was wasted on this ridiculous piece of legislation that will not serve the common good of this country.
