The Eye and Ears of Network TV

1/12/2005 Message to CBS, NBC & ABC - Please stay with New Orleans this time

Unless a person has cable television, they do not get the sense of the true goings on in New Orleans. Local print media has lagged far behind local television media when it comes to the daily development in the gulf coast, especially New Orleans. But local television stations have a dismal showing of the recovery and rebuilding process, too. The people who do not have access to the internet, are stuck with local everything, which does very little to nothing where the people of this nations worst catastrophe are concerned.

Please consider sharing a daily dose of the peoples plight. Figure out a way that you can keep eyes and ears on the ones that need it most, everyday. When media began pulling back on the people of the gulf coast, it left those people in a vacuum of isolation. And it left the nation and the world to assume that things must be going well. Those of us who strive to stay connected, know that things are not going well and that everyone in this country is equally deserving to know this too. I don't know what the mile marker will be, when that day comes. I am sure, however, I will recognize prosperity in the peoples voices, faces and written words, then I'll know they can get on with life without us watching over. Thank you.

I agree with you. I see less and less on news and even the internet. I know that big things are still ahead for these people and they are already becoming a lost memory.
